Happy Fall to all!

On this fine fall day, I want to touch base with all of you.
Since we have had NWEAs yesterday and today, we have not done any math in class.  BUT, we must not forget what standards we are working on- that is RATES AND PROPORTIONAL Relationships. We are starting Proportional Reasoning.  Another more familiar wording may be Equivalent Fractions- when one ratio equals another.
REMEMBER: if you are retaking the quiz on Chapter 1.1-1.3 come in during tutorial.
Here's to a big smooch from Maddy's Horse!
So make sure you have the notes in your graphic organizer for Lesson 1.4 on PROPORTIONAL and NON-Proportional ratios and work on the following vocabulary words.

You are now able to bring home your laptops and
so the work with the electronic PORTFOLIO begins. Define the following terms:
RATE
COMPLEX FRACTIONS
UNIT RATE
PROPORTIONAL/Non-PROPORTIONAL Ratios

Make sure you define these words in meaningful and in an understanding way ~~~~~your own words.
Give an example from the math book AND
FIND a real world example of each (pictures or such).
Be creative and have fun ( One student put the vocabulary to a song and videoed taped it - another student was a reporter and reported out the information. )

In addition to starting your vocabulary section, you can type up your essay that was assigned the other day-

For right now, Keep this information on NOTES or Pages until we start your portfolio BLOG!
