Chapter 5.6 Adding Linear EXPRESSIONS in the standard of EXPRESSIONS and EQUATIONS.

Good evening Girls and Boys

Here are the videos on Chapter 5, lesson 6.
Lesson 6 is about Adding Linear Expression. Do you see a smaller word inside Linear?? Bet you do.....what is it? Write this down in your graphic organizer.
A linear expression is an expression in which the
variable is raised to the first power.
Here are some examples:
5x, 3x + 2 are Linear Expressions.
5x^2, 3x^2 + 2 are Nonlinear Expression as the x is raised to the power of 2.
All we are doing when adding linear Expression is
combining Like Term within that Algebraic Expression.
When we graph a Linear Expression it will always
 be a straight line.
Our secret word is “Linear Expression”

Here are Mr Boubacar's 2 young son's....
Nadir is the little one at 20 months old
and Malik is the older one at 5 years old.  Ok, so this picture was from this summer as they would be buried in snow if it was recent picture. They are adorable.

Homework: Read the blog, take notes in your graphic organizer and post into your chapter 5 portfolio.
As always in MATH,
Mr B
