Good Afternoon to all of you,
I know that it was extremely difficult for you to get up early this morning after having over 2 week break. But all things end and we are BACK- It is 2015!!! Yippeee.......
We are starting off this year with what we learned LAST (2014) year! So we will be using the NEGATIVE RULES and FRACTION RULES together. We are still in the standard of NUMBER SYSTEMS.
I know you can recall the rules for Fractions, and we will be reviewing Negative Rules too. So, the work gets harder but you get smarter!!! So hang on and let's go.
Vocabulary Terms are to be entered into your Math Portfolios in vocabulary - they must be in alphabetical order , an example from the book, real world examples and A MEANINGFUL DEFINITION - not the books.
Repeating Decimals are decimals that have a pattern and you know the next number of the decimal. You will use Bar Notation - a line over the numbers that repeat in a decimal. And if you have a decimal that ENDS, these are called Terminating Decimals.
So we must be able to covert fractions to decimals and back again. Remember that decimals HAVE A DECIMAL POINT in them- get the point???? Remember my saying to change a fraction into a decimal- STOP DROP DIVIDE!!
Meet Carly. She has Sophia's heart!
Homework: Read the blog, take notes in your Graphic Organizer and complete your Vocabulary in your Portfolio.
