Homework for Thursday is in the google calendar also: Send in the completed Chapter 1 Vocabulary and essay in google CLASSROOM!
Today we are moving on to Chapter 2- PERCENTS!!! You are most likely very familiar with this as you may use it in common conversations. Percents are in the standards of Rates and Proportions and Expressions and Equations.
If you are estimating these percents, it can be very helpful. So, if think about percent of something as being around 50% - then that would be about half of the total. If you divide up the total into quarters - and estimate the answer to see if it is reasonable- that may help in the actual computing. For Example: if you are asked for 24% of 100, a reasonable estimate would be for the answer to be around 25. Take a look into the videos and use your estimates and see if the answer is a reasonable one.
