Good day to all of you,
We are moving on with PROBABILITY! And Probability is a unique strand in math - it has many symbols. So hang on for the ride ! Starting with Vocabulary: Probability is the chance that something may happen. You hear this all the time when you hear the weather forecast- we have a 70% chance of rain tomorrow. The weatherperson can not say for certain that it will rain,
but it is likely. Simple Event is the outcome( is the answer/result of something happening. Random is when all outcomes are equally likely to happen. And the last vocabulary for this lesson is Complementary Events- that is - 2 events can happen BUT not at the same time- as in- I toss a coin and it lands on heads- it could have landed on tails - but can't land on both heads and tails at the same time. These complementary events
ALWAYS add up to 100 % or 1 !!!
Here's Sophia pretending to be a little chipmunk! Looking pretty sad and swollen, but glad those wisdom teeth are gone!
Homework : In your chapter 8 graphic organizer start this lesson!
Read the blog, take notes in the Graphic Organizer - chapter 8- complete vocabulary for PROBABILITY:
As always in MATH,
Mrs M
