Chapter 9 Lesson 2 PROBABILITY

Good day girls and boys.
We are continuing on with PROBABILITY. And the first video is on vocabulary so make sure you write these down in your Graphic Organizers and define them as well.  These 2 terms work together - Theoretical and Experimental PROBABILITY.  Starting with Experimental Probability is when you actually DO the experiment and Theoretical is when you have an equal chance at the outcomes, but you don't actually do them.  So, these should be relatively close but if the Experimental time is not done many many time, it often does not come close to the Theory one, what mathematically should happen.  Watch the videos and take notes.

Lizzy is holding a sweet baby goat at a local farm. It looks like she put the baby to sleep. How sweet.
Homework: Read the Blog, watch the videos, take notes in your graphic organizer and complete your vocabulary on EXPERIMENTAL and THEORETICAL Probability.

Chapter 9 PROBABILITY!!!

Good day to all of you,
We are moving on with PROBABILITY!  And Probability is a unique strand in math - it has many symbols. So hang on for the ride !  Starting with Vocabulary: Probability is the chance that something may happen.  You hear this all the time when you hear the weather forecast- we have a 70% chance of rain tomorrow.  The weatherperson can not say for certain that it will rain,
but it is likely. Simple Event is the outcome( is the answer/result of something happening.  Random is when all outcomes are equally likely to happen. And the last vocabulary for this lesson is Complementary Events- that is - 2 events can happen BUT not at the same time- as in- I toss a coin and it lands on heads- it could have landed on tails - but can't land on both heads and tails at the same time.  These complementary events
 ALWAYS add up to 100 % or 1 !!!

Here's Sophia pretending to be a little chipmunk!  Looking pretty sad and swollen, but glad those wisdom teeth are gone!
Homework : In your chapter 8 graphic organizer start this lesson!
Read the blog, take notes in the Graphic Organizer - chapter 8- complete vocabulary for PROBABILITY:

Chapter 6.8 Solving 2 Step INEQUALITIES

Good Day to all of you,
Today we are moving onward with solving 2 STEP INEQUALITIES- This is your vocabulary term.  This means that you are going to be solving 2 steps to get the solutions.  As in EQUATIONS, you start on the Variable Side - Balance the Constant ( number that stands alone) on both sides - then take care of Balancing the Coefficients (number that is part of the variable).  REMEMBER the trick: When multiplying or dividing across the INEQUALITY, you must flip the < or > signs. In your graphic organizers write the vocabulary terms and definitions for
2 STEP INEQUALITIES - CONSTANTS - COEFFICIENTS  - PROPERTIES of INEQUALITIES!!!
And....... you are in for a special treat today with a couple of your peers who solve the problems for you!!!! If you want to do this, please let me know......
Here is Andrew's Chicken, Bertha - it's a beauty!

Homework: Read the blog- watch the videos- complete the vocabulary listed above and take notes in the graphic organizer for SOLVING 2 STEP INEQUALITIES:
